Game Fund Partners Group Invests Into Maximum Entertainment
Game Fund Partners Group is a majority shareholder in RE3W
We (GFP) invested in Maximum Entertainment!
From Jonah Blake
I’m excited to announce our investment in Maximum Entertainment. Before I highlight why I’m so excited about this investment, please note that Game Fund Partners Group LLC is a majority shareholder in RE3W and I’m a co-founder at both entities. You can read the press release on the investment here: https://maximument.com/mfn_news/ceo-chairman-of-the-board-and-institutional-investors-acquire-a-significant-position-in-zordix/
It is an honor to back a founder like Christina Seelye. She has over 20 years in the software business and she is very well respected in the gaming industry. We believe in her goals at the company and the games her company is bringing to market. From indie to AA and emerging transmedia properties, here’s a highlight of their entities and the games on the horizon that I am personally excited about.
Physical and Digital Collectibles
When I looked at this investment opportunity, their “Among Us” collector addition packages really stood out. Video Games are not niche anymore. The biggest shows and movies now derive from video games. Video games → Video/audio content → mass audience of non-gamers → new players and consumer product goods (CPG). The future of transmedia publishing will need a staff that understands physical/digital collectible distribution.
Focus on AA and Premium Indie Games
Maximum Entertainment has significant strength when it relates to focusing on emerging IP. It is very difficult to develop IP at the AAA level and the number of attempts to hit home runs is slim. As a gamer myself, the reason AA works is that it sits between community-driven cult IP and commercial IP that can have reach into future AAA development or media production.
Check out a new trailer for their new game “Bramble: The Mountain King” which has seen significant reach on social media. It is coming out THIS MONTH.
In-House Studio Developments and Live Service
I’m personally excited about their jump into simulation and fighting games. There are a lot of licensing shakeups that have previously locked out game studios from creating their own football or soccer-style games. Player appetites are changing and there is an opportunity to compete in the sim market with new titles. We have seen a lot of “Madden exhaustion”.
Here is Maximum Football, a new football game from Maximum Entertainment.
This game will be a free-to-play live service title where players have a lot more control over customization and rule-making.
Innovative Gameplay Embraced
I appreciate Maximum Entertainment’s ability to publish or develop games that try to innovate with gameplay design. The next great IP is not going to be something that looks like Halo or Assassin’s Creed. A new IP will need to not only innovate on gameplay but work as a content studio for creators to share videos across social media and live stream services like Twitch.
Here’s an example of one innovative game they’re releasing called “How 2 Escape”
“2 players, 2 ways to play. The first player on PC embodies the character trapped in the train, exploring and playing with the environment. The second player will use the dedicated free companion app* to get various information and try to understand how to help the first player and be able to escape from this unfortunate travel…”
